LR at Westminster

Scottish Labour and other Labour MPs welcome Lindsay Roy to the House of Commons.

Lindsay Roy MP takes his seat in the House of Commons

Lindsay Roy MP today took his seat in the House of Commons, less than a week after winning a famous victory in the Glenrothes by-election.

He was sworn in on the floor of the House of Commons just after Prime Minister's Questions, with Gordon Brown present. Speaking immediately after, he said:

"I am delighted to be sworn in at Westminster today and looking forward to being able to get stuck in to the work I have been elected to do. People in Fife have put their trust in me and I promise to work hard to represent all my constituents."
